How to change the front fairing stay on a 2000 CBR-600 F4

Time required: about 15-25 minutes (once the front fairing is off) 1-1.5 hours if not
Level of difficulty: Easy (once the front fairing is off) moderate if not
Tools needed: 12mm and 8mm sockets and wrench (give or take 2mm sizes)
I am not responsible for any damage caused by these instructions. Proceed at your own risk. I do my best to make sure they are accurate. Always wear the proper safety gear and use common sense.

1. Remove front fairing.

2. Remove rubber cap from instrument cluster and remove bolt inside.

3. Gently set the instrument cluster off to the side, don't worry, it'll be fine. You can also unplug it if you wish.

4. Take note of what wires go where and what ties/binders are holding them. The ties that they use are like zipties, except you can take them on and off many times... very cool.

5. Proceed to undo the two bolts holding the stay on. Immediately after (or before) you do this, unplug the wires with the red connectors and pull them through the hole in the stay.

6. Once you've got the fairing stay off the bike, take your time and transfer the rubber o-rings to the new stay. Pay particular attention to the big bottom ones, they are different sizes on each side, so remember which side the thicker side was on.

7. As usual, installation is opposite of removal. There really isn't anything tricky to do to reinstall, just route the wires the same way as they were and remember to get all the connectors back inside the protective rubber boot (as seen in step 5).
